Staten Island & Manhattan

Referred to as 'The City' by residents of the other four boroughs, Manhattan is the commercial, cultural and financial center of New York City. It is also the headquarters of the United Nations and the seat of city government. Manhattan is home to many famous landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, universities and has the largest central business district in the United States. Staten Island is the most suburban in character of the five boroughs. It is connected to Brooklyn by the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and to Manhattan via the free Staten Island Ferry. Until 2001, Staten was home to the Fresh Kills Landfill, formerly the largest landfill in the world.
